Feel free to bring your own favorite bike with you on this trip. The bicycle is safely and securely stored indoors at the hotel.
This bike ride can be considered a bit more demanding as it is quite hilly during some sections, a lot of uphill and also downhill. A little longer distances, a little more canal feeling and a visit to Sweden's reserve capital, Karlsborg. A historic journey along the Göta canal – Sweden's largest cultural and historical building and a visit to Karlsborg Fortress that takes you straight into the 1800th century. It is a wonderful spectacle to see life both on and next to the canal.
In our bicycle packages, you live at selected facilities with a good reputation. We offer Pensionat Prästgården with newly renovated family hotel rooms and Hotell Wettern in Karlsborg.

Day 1
Töreboda - Sjötorp - Töreboda (bike ride 40 km)
The cycling holiday starts from Töreboda, perfect when you come by train. From there, you tread along the Göta Canal past 16 locks to Sjötorp by Lake Vänern. In Sjötorp, lunch is served at Café Baltzar by the harbor pool. To know a little more about how the canal was built, entrance to the canal museum located at Sjötorp harbor is included. When the spirit catches on, you turn the bike ride again towards Töreboda. You stay at Pensionat Prästgården's family hotel. The rooms are newly renovated and are in a tasteful mansion style with sanded old wooden floors. Sit back in the sun lounger with an exciting book and relax before it's time for dinner. Dinner is served at Prästgårdens Trädgårdscafé. Enjoy in the lovely garden or if the weather does not allow you to settle down in the family restaurant.Day 2
Töreboda - Tåtorp - Forsvik - Karlsborg (bike ride 54 km)
After breakfast at Pensionat Prästgården, the cycling holiday continues towards today's destination Karlsborg by Lake Vättern. Today you will cycle along the Göta Canal past Lanthöjden and on to Tåtorp by Lake Viken. In Tåtorp, there is one of the canal's two hand-cranked locks. Cycle to the mill town of Forsvik, which is considered to be Sweden's first industrial town. The tour takes you further towards Karlsborg, which has been Sweden's reserve capital once upon a time. In Karlsborg you check in at Hotell Wettern.Day 3
Karlsborg (villa)
Today will be a day of rest on your cycling holiday. Stroll around in the picturesque Karlsborg, which is beautifully situated between Lake Vättern and Lake Bothnia. A guided tour of Karlsborg Fortress is on today's program. An exciting trip back to the 1800th century awaits here. Out on Vanäs cape where Karlsborg's fortress is located, you can find many exciting environments, historic buildings and beautiful nature. If the weather allows, swimming is recommended, as there is water almost all around Karlsborg.Day 4
Karlsborg - Tåtorp - Töreboda (bike ride 54 km)
Today the cycling holiday goes back to Töreboda. The bike ride will take you out on small winding roads that take you around Lake Viken and on to the Göta Canal. A wonderful stop with a beautiful view of Lake Viken is at Beateberg's hexagonal church. Then follow the canal from Tåtorp to Töreboda where the journey ends.Luggage transport included

It is easy to take the train to Töreboda. The western main line between Gothenburg-Stockholm passes Töreboda with several stops here. Walking distance about 500 meters from the Railway Station to Pensionat Prästgården where the starting point for the cycling holiday is.
By car: From Gothenburg about 20 km, estimated to take 2 hours and 45 minutes. Follow the E20 to Mariestad and from here highway 202 to Töreboda.
From Stockholm about 30 km, estimated to take 3 hours and 15 minutes. Follow the E18 / E20 to Hova and from here highway 200 to Töreboda.
We recommend that you start the bike ride between 10-12. If you have a long way to travel, feel free to book an extra night.
You park the car at Pensionat Prästgården. Free parking.
